Can Anthropic finance a 1/5/10 GW Broadcom TPU path — and top Google as XPU customer?
Tanay Jaipuria relays Anthropic's Broadcom TPU roadmap — 1 GW Ironwood in 2026, 5 GW TPU v8i in 2027, line of sight to 10 more GW in 2028 — with Anthropic as Broadcom's largest XPU customer next year. Thin replies challenge cash generation and call the Google overtake "wild."

Is a ~90% hike probability the right Wednesday call — or is the room still 50/50?
Eric Balchunas flags a 90% vs 38% juxtaposition on rate-hike odds into the Fed meeting. Replies split between trusting economist/market hike pricing after a hot inflation print and a personal 50/50 that Wednesday can still go either way.

Why do three US labs take ~70% of OpenRouter spend but only ~27% of tokens?
OpenRouter's Peter Walker shows three major American labs attracting about 70% of spend while accounting for only 27% of tokens. Thin reply chain; the chart is the claim. Google's weight depends on whether the metric is spend or tokens.

Postmarket Sep 14: slowdown selloff concentrates in chips and power — pacing is mix, not cliff
Session closed SPX −0.5% / Nasdaq −0.6% with positive breadth; damage in SOXX, chips, and AI-power. Baker reframes pacing as more alignment compute and lower lab margins; HBM 4-Hi stays contested sell-side vs SemiAnalysis.

Is datacenter HBM stuck above 4-Hi, or is shorter stack the inference optimum?
jukan05 cites TrendForce that 4-Hi HBM is not enough and doubts suppliers would make it anyway; Jeff Pu concurs that datacenter de-spec to 4-Hi is unlikely. SemiAnalysis the same day argues 4-Hi maximizes tokens per HBM wafer for inference — a live supply-vs-architecture split.

D.C. Circuit upholds Pentagon Anthropic supply-chain label

2-1 D.C. Circuit keeps one DoD supply-chain risk designation on Anthropic; conflicts with N.D. Cal. vacatur of a parallel label.

Opening

A 2-1 D.C. Circuit panel on Friday upheld the Defense Department’s March designation of Anthropic as a supply-chain risk, preserving the ban on Claude in DoD systems and in contractor work for the agency — CNBC; WIRED. Judge Gregory Katsas wrote for the majority (joined by Judge Neomi Rao); Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson dissented. The panel said the Department had “ample support” that continued integration of Claude by DoD or its contractors presented a covered national-security risk. Anthropic had challenged the action as arbitrary, unauthorized, and unconstitutional after talks over GenAI.mil collapsed — DoD seeking broad lawful-purpose access, Anthropic refusing use for fully autonomous weapons and domestic mass surveillance. A Northern District of California court vacated a parallel designation under a different statute last month; Friday’s ruling leaves the D.C.-track designation in place. An Anthropic spokesperson told CNBC the company “respectfully disagree[s],” notes the California holding, and is “considering all options, including further review.” The panel delayed immediate effect to allow rehearing / en banc / Supreme Court petitions.

The numbers

Vote — 2–1 (Katsas/Rao majority; Henderson dissent) — CNBC / WIRED.

Prior DoD contract color — Anthropic signed a $200 million Pentagon contract in July 2025; GenAI.mil deployment talks later collapsed — CNBC.

Dual-track litigation — two distinct statutory designations litigated in separate courts; N.D. Cal. vacated one; D.C. Circuit upheld the other — CNBC / WIRED.

Why it matters

Keeps a live federal-procurement bar on Claude for DoD and defense-contractor workflows even after a California vacatur of a sibling label — split authority into a years-long appeal path, with IPO-window optics for Anthropic and substitution pressure toward other frontier vendors on the military side.
